48px side padding also added, to avoid interference from the social media bar in tablet mode.

STEMSEAS
STEMSEAS aims to provide ship-based, 6-10 day exploratory experiences for undergraduates from diverse backgrounds aboard NSF-funded research vessels. Students will sail with experienced faculty and graduate student near-peer mentors, and engage in geoscience and oceanography activities (while also having fun)!
NSF MARINE SCIENCE REU PROGRAM AT UNCW
Research programs in UNCW’s Center for Marine Science take a multidisciplinary approach to questions in basic and applied science coastal and marine science. Our talented faculty enlist both undergraduate and graduate students in the discovery process which spans local, state national and international projects.
REU SITE IN COMPUTATIONAL STATISTICS AT UNCG
UNCG offered an NSF-funded, 10-week REU program over summer of 2023 for ten nationally recruited undergraduate students from mathematical sciences. The focus of the 2023 program was on Complex Data Analysis using Statistical and Machine Learning Tools.

Provides up to $1,000 in matching funds for tenured or tenure-track faculty to travel internationally for research or conference presentations.

Provides supplemental travel funds to support the presentation of faculty research, scholarship, or creative activity; to serve as chairpersons; to participate as panelists; or to contribute in other appropriate manners at scholarly meetings in the USA, Mexico, or Canada.

The Global Engagement Office also supports faculty and students applying through the Undergraduate Research, Scholarship, and Creativity Office (URSCO) for scholarly projects that have an international component.

The Department of Computer Science at UNCG is a thriving department with an established, ABET-accredited B.S. degree program, an active M.S. degree program and a Ph.D. program which was recently established (Fall ’22). Experiencing rapid enrollment growth in recent years, the department currently has 8 research-active tenured and tenure-track faculty members, as well as lecturers and part-time faculty.
